On the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, senior weaver Rokahurihia Cameron demonstrates making paper from harakeke whītau (flax fibre). Join us for a hands-on experience. Tuesday 6th February, 1pm – 3pm | MAHI TAHI | Free, registration required.

Ngā tikanga tukuiho Māori puna taonga.

We will be using a traditional Māori resource, 100% natural harakeke whitau (fibre).

Kauneke tauwhiro puna taonga rawa taiao.

A sustainably harvested natural resource.

Ka taea te pirau.

Readily biodegradable.

He harakeke mo te pā harakeke o Whakatipu.

Fed by pure water from the Remarkables mountains which flow into Lake Whakatipu.

He taonga ātaahua, hūmārie, ahurei.

A beautiful, unique treasure.
