OUR SPACES

WHAKAARI (to show, display, expose to view, present, act) is a 159m2 gallery space for contemporary art and exhibitions.

PUĀWAI (to bloom, blossom, flower, come to fruition) is a 154m2 theatre and performance space with a movable stage and chairs, lighting scaffold, ceiling-mounted projector and screen, speakers and bluetooth sound system, pop-up stage curtains and wings, and an adjoining recording studio. It houses up to 120 people (including performers and staff). AV equipment (eg mixing desk, microphones) is available for hire at an extra charge.

MANAAKI NUI (to support, take care of, give hospitality to, protect, show respect, generosity and care for others - 'nui' means big, abundant, important) is a 118m2 community project space used for exhibitions, displays, workshops, talks and small-scale events. AV equipment (eg TV screen, microphones) is available for hire at an extra charge.

MANAAKI MAI (to support, take care of, give hospitality to, protect, show respect, generosity and care for others) is the central corridor space containing Te Atamira's reception and shop, flexible seating and meeting space.

KAPA TAHI/1 (kapa means team, group, company of people) is a full sized dance studio (138m2) with sprung floors, mirrors, practice barres, storage, a mirror ball, a bluetooth sound system.

KAPA RUA/2 (kapa means team, group, company of people) is a 77m2 dance studio with sprung floors, mirrors, practice barres and a bluetooth sound system.

MAHI TAHI (to work, do, perform, make, accomplish, practise - together, as one) is a 50m2 art & craft workshop and teaching room, with sinks, tables, chairs, cubby holes and whiteboards.

TŌNUI (to be prosperous, prolific, productive, flourishing, thriving, successful, affluent) is a 45m2 practice space with a piano, suitable for chamber music, bands, choirs and small-scale theatre rehearsals.

PŪRĀKAU (myth, ancient legend, story) is an 18m2 digital recording studio adjoining PUĀWAI (the theatre/performance space).

TE PĀ MATAPAIA (pottery, clay) is a 93m2 pottery studio with a 30m2 mezzanine space. It is home to the Wakatipu Potters Group - a community pottery club based in Queenstown.

TOI 1-6: six individual art studios (each 10m2).

WAIATA 1-6: Six rooms for itinerant music teachers (each 10m2).
