In this adult beginners' class in painting students will explore a foundational colour theory of the Impressionist palette. Students will learn an essential colour concept for light and depth using a basic still life set up. Understanding the use of colour contrasts and harmonies and how to identify colour in relation to value zones is the goal for this still life. Find out also how brushstrokes impact different parts of your paintings.

About your tutor:

Grant Whibley is an artist and art tutor. Whibley was born in Tokoroa and raised in Whakatane. He holds a Master of Fine Arts, with first class honours, from Elam School of Art in Auckland. Whibley has exhibited widely and been the recipient of several awards for his art.
