Saturday Arts Social is a multi-arts programme and morning tea designed for our 65+ community. We gather every Saturday morning for a broad programme of events including concerts, art workshops, dance/movement classes and artist talks. Next event: Saturday 23 November, 10:30am - 12:30pm
Upcoming Programmes:
23 November - Morsels of Music with Mark Wilson and friends
Mark Wilson and Friends, with Emma Wilson, invite you to a musical feast with the theme Sharing Food and Drink. Savor a smorgasbord of melodious morsels to delight your ears, spiced with fun, a dash of jazz, and the signature singalong that brings everyone together. A truly delicious way to spend your Saturday morning!
30 November - Christmas Cardmaking Workshop with Tina
Create your own unique Christmas cards this year! In this Saturday Arts Social workshop, you'll design and craft 5 stylish yet simple Christmas cards that are sure to impress friends and family. If you don’t finish all 5 during the session, don’t worry - take-home instructions and images will be provided so you can complete them at your own pace. Plus, you can easily recreate your designs at home to make even more!
7 December - Mobile Phone Christmas Photography with Scott Kennedy
Professional Photographer Scott Kennedy returns to teach you more mobile phone photography tips. This time, the focus is the holidays - family portraits by the Christmas tree, Christmas Lunch food photos or the grandkids on their new bike. With lots of help to make sure your holiday photos turn out better than you hoped, they are stress-free and worth sharing with the whole family.
14 December - Wasabi Christmas Concert
Join us for a joyful Saturday Arts Social filled with Christmas cheer and music, featuring the Wasabi Choir and local pianist Kana. Wasabi is the Queenstown Japanese Community Choir. Founded in 2015, this vibrant group celebrates music, singing, and Japanese culture. From their beginnings as a small gathering sharing homemade treats, they’ve grown into a community passionate about preserving their heritage and sharing it with others. Come along and enjoy the warmth, music, and connection.
Drop-in sessions, registrations are not required. Free for ages 60+.
