Pūheke ("to flow") is a new solo work by Louise Pōtiki Bryant emerging out of her personal journey towards healing from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) / Māuiui whakaauau. Join us for an immersive experience of image, music and solo dance performance by this Ngāi Tahu choreographer and Arts Foundation Laureate. Saturday 1 February, 7:30pm
In this new work, Bryant weaves together animations, filmed dance movement and her own live performance to express a personal journey of healing and transformation. Through mindful illustration and movement tools inspired by the movement of water and atua wāhine (female deities / ancestors), Pūheke - meaning to flow - is an expression of Louise’s mauri (life force) evolving and transforming over time.
